An Overview
Vision
By the year 2013, Entrust, by God’s grace will have equipped teams of faithful men and women in all 12 regions of the Czech Republic to continually provide accessible, biblical, servant-leader training which will strengthen local churches and contribute to the fulfillment of Christ’s command to make disciples in every nation.
Need
Churches in the Czech Republic continue to struggle with a lack of capable leadership. They are often unable to fill the pulpits of individual congregations and sufficiently provide sound, biblical training for the development of qualified elders and lay teachers. There is also a shortage of trained, godly women to teach and encourage younger women in the church and community. Many church leaders who presently serve are over-worked, but do not know how to disciple faithful co-workers. These problems hinder the impact these churches can make in their post-Communist setting.
Theological education is available in only a few Czech cities. The increasing demands of home life and the workplace in post-communist societies often prevent committed Christians from enrolling in residential seminary programs. Many cannot afford to leave their present ministry or employment for further education.
Solution
Entrust can provide sound, biblical education and training to qualified students in close proximity to their homes. The goal of Entrust is not only to equip individual students for service, but also to develop teams of faithful men and women in the 12 regions of the Czech Republic who will prayerfully plan and provide the ongoing training needed in the churches of their region.
The main focus areas for the Entrust-Czech Republic ministry are:
1. Teaching, training, and mentoring men and women, and establishing leadership teams in each region.
2. Assisting the Plymouth Brethren denomination in developing a national training program.
3. Providing training to seminaries and sponsoring training conferences.
4. Translating, editing, and publishing of Entrust materials in Czech.
