Position Available



Summary:  Provides spiritual encouragement to pastors in various cultural settings, primarily young pastors in isolated churches or unsupportive denominational environments. Listens to needs, brainstorms, encourages, prays and shares life-on-life with pastors as a peer learner/mentor. Is prepared, if asked, to occasionally preach or teach, lead Bible studies for pastors, facilitate pastors’ retreats or assist in any additional way.

Reports to: Director of Pastor-to-Pastor Mentoring and Country/Regional Director

Commitment: regular short-term trips or living in-country with English speakers, 1-2 years; or in-country residence with language learning, 5 years

Location: Europe, Middle East or Asia

Compensation: Raise support


  • Study Jesus’ approach to making disciples in the gospels and how he built up his disciples for ministry.
  • Study how best to encourage and make disciples within the cultural context.
  • Serve and support the purposes and strategies of Entrust’s regional and country directors and partners.
  • Develop relationships with local/national pastors, through regular visits, listening, interacting, encouraging, brainstorming, problem-solving, praying together.
  • Assist Entrust’s regional and country directors to determine local needs and develop opportunities for mentoring national pastors.
  • Encourage and disciple pastors in spiritual character and ministry skills.
  • In conjunction with country and regional directors, promote peer-encouragement and discipleship among pastors and church leaders through (by request of local pastors) pastors’ Bible studies, retreats or training courses.
  • Accept invitations to preach, teach, provide ministry training.
  • Offer new ideas, expand thinking, encourage isolated and discouraged pastors.
  • Introduce pastors to Entrust training methods, encourage and assist them in taking advantage of training opportunities.
  • Make recommendations to the Entrust regional director, of local leaders demonstrating leadership potential.
  • Send regular reports regarding pastors mentored to regional director.


  • Pastors and church leaders will grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ through mentoring and discipleship.
  • Young pastors will be encouraged by fellow young pastors in all aspects of church ministry.
  • Pastors and church leaders will be equipped with ministry skills to strengthen the local church.
  • Pastors and church leaders will mentor and disciple other followers of Jesus toward spiritual maturity.


Professional Qualifications

  • Genuine interest in and understanding of global leadership training.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-cultural settings.
  • Prior ministry experience (cross- or mono-cultural) of at least 2 years.
  • Ministry experience overseas (long- or short-term).
  • Successful completion of Entrust Facilitator Training and experience in use of this methodology.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken forms.
  • Experience in giving presentations to both small groups and individuals.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to prioritize workload.
  • Proven ability to provide one-to-one and team pastoral care.

  • Ability to adjust to possible changes in responsibilities.
  • Creativity and initiative in performing responsibilities.

  • Growing Christian who is personally following Christ and active in a local church.

  • Ability to bring a spiritual perspective to work as demonstrated in attitude, faithfulness and interpersonal relationships with others.
  • Models life coaching in relationships.
  • Teachable spirit and servant’s heart.
