Thoughts on Merging Well

A Year in Pictures

JUNE marks 9 months of becoming one organization. Throughout this journey, OC and Entrust leaders sought God’s leading and learned biblical principles along the way.

We did not follow all these concepts perfectly. We hit bumps along the road. But by God’s mercy and a shared attitude of humility, we continue to learn and grow.

  1. START WITH VISION, PASSION, AND CHARACTER Spend time getting to know the history, vision, and values of each organization. Learn how these play out in field ministry. Be sure these are well-aligned.

  2. PUT THE OTHER FIRST Don’t assume either organization has all the answers. Whenever possible, defer to the other organization, or find middle ground.

  3. KNOW THE IMPORTANCE OF THE WELCOME The welcome of each organization by the other will set the tone for the entire merger process.

  4. HONOR PEOPLE BEFORE PROCESSES Pay attention to the merger’s impact on people. Have systems in place for continuous feedback and take it seriously.

  5. FOCUS ON SYNERGY What ministry strengths do each bring to the table? What can we learn from each other to expand and improve ministry impact?

THANK YOU for being our intercessors in prayer. Join us in praying for:

  • open and grace-filled communication

  • continuing to put God and his leading first

  • increased ministry opportunities and impact
